Back Pain
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic care. Spinal manipulation — the core technique behind chiropractic adjustments — is included among non-drug options recommended by the American College of Physicians for chronic low-back pain, and research shows it may lead to modest improvements in pain and function for some patients.
Neck Pain
Neck pain is frequently linked to posture, tension, and spinal joint restriction. Chiropractic adjustments aim to restore normal motion to the affected joints as part of a broader approach to managing neck discomfort.
Headaches
Some research suggests spinal manipulation may help with certain headache types, including migraine and cervicogenic (neck-related) headaches. Dr. Fernandez will discuss whether your headache pattern is one that may respond to chiropractic care.
Sciatica
Sciatic-type pain — radiating pain along the sciatic nerve, often into the leg — can stem from several causes, including spinal misalignment. Research on chiropractic care specifically for sciatica is mixed: some studies show improvement, while broader reviews describe the evidence as inconclusive. A chiropractic evaluation can help determine whether adjustments are an appropriate part of your plan.
Sports Injuries & Active Patients
Whether you’re training, competing, or simply staying active, spinal restrictions can affect mobility and performance. Dr. Fernandez draws on decades of hands-on clinical experience — not a formal sports-medicine certification — to assess and adjust active patients using the Diversified, Y-Strap, and Activator techniques.
Family Wellness
Align has cared for Burbank families for over 23 years, currently seeing patients age 8 to 93. We don’t offer specialized pediatric or prenatal techniques or actively market prenatal care — for infant or young-child care, we recommend a chiropractor who focuses on that population. Established patients who become pregnant while under care often continue their regular adjustments using standard technique, at Dr. Fernandez’s discretion.
When to Seek Immediate Medical Care
Chiropractic care is not a substitute for emergency medical evaluation. Seek immediate medical attention for: sudden, severe pain; numbness, tingling, or weakness in the arms or legs; loss of bladder or bowel control; pain following significant trauma; or back pain accompanied by fever. Dr. Fernandez will refer you to an appropriate medical provider if your symptoms fall outside the scope of chiropractic care.
